About

Hi, I’m Jen.

I’m a writer, a tech translator, and someone who’s started her life over more times than most people change careers.

I spent years in relationships that taught me what danger looks like when it’s dressed up as love. I raised kids through chaos. I’ve been broke, broken, and convinced I was too much and not enough at the same time. I’ve also built businesses, failed at them, talked strangers through their worst tech nightmares, and somehow became the person everyone texts when they don’t know what to do next.

I think differently – literally. My brain doesn’t work the way most systems are built for, which means I’ve spent my whole life translating the world into something that makes sense. Turns out, that’s a skill. Turns out, a lot of people need someone who can do that.

These days I work in tech for a company that actually values how I think, which still surprises me sometimes. And I’m building this space – The Real Jen Z – for anyone who’s ever been told they’re too complicated, too intense, or too late.

Here you’ll find the random thoughts in my head – everything from relationships, simplifying tech for real humans, starting over when the GPS says “recalculating” for the hundredth time, radical kindness as a survival strategy, and what pit bulls can teach us about being misjudged.

If any of that sounds like your kind of weird, you’re in the right place. I’m so happy you’re here!
